MIGHTY STEEL 24x36 garage. Is the siding vinyl or Hardiplank? It's neither; it's FABRAL's 26-gauge Grandbeam steel lap siding. Grandbeam is protected by a 25-year warranty on the paint against fading and chalking. The roof is ribbed steel installed in a vertical pattern for better water runoff and good looks. The standard 4/12 roof has been increased to a steep 8/12 pitch and windows and shutters have been added. The enclosed soffit/overhang on the sides comes with every building. There is a FREE soffit/overhang on the ends. Note: Grandbeam lap siding is an upgrade.

Note: If you live in a higher elevation and expect heavy snow loads (up to 25 pounds per square foot), you may wish to upgrade the roof deck to 26 gauge steel. The gables, ends, and sides remain at 29 gauge steel. The price is an additional $0.54 per square foot.

               SOLAR GUARD Insulation

SOLAR GUARD is a high-quality, highly resilient fiber glass blanket insulation which offers excellent insulating value along with noise reduction, an attractive appearance, and vapor retardation. The latter retards the condensation of moisture on a cold roof and the resulting water droplets. Hence, you may wish to insulate the roof with SOLAR GUARD even if you do not plan on insulating the walls.

Johns Manville's unique space-saving compression process allows a thermal blanket only 1/4" thick. The space age product is faced with two choices of vapor retarders: (1) aluminum facing on both sides, which is highly reflective and gives a bright metal surface; and (2) an aluminum facing on the back and a white facing on the front; the latter cuts down on the reflective aspect and is more conducive to a workplace environment.
