Alpine Garage Apartment

FRONT ELEVATION: This is a Alpine two-story model. The ceiling height downstairs is 9'. The ceiling height upstairs is 8'. The main roof is commercial trusses.

UPSTAIRS ELEVATION:  Notice the tray ceiling over the butcher block table in the dining area and in the bedroom. These are WOW factors. Just add a fan with a light. :)

A few suggested design elements were added to the floor plan with the cut of the vinyl or tile. I once had a new home with the traffic areas in a very nice vinyl -- looked like tile -- and it worked great for us. When we moved, the carpet looked brand new because we were not walking on it down the hallway. The pantry in located next to the kitchen. Moreover, if one wanted to go to the bath without disturbing someone sleeping, they could do so through the laundry room. In all, the great room containing open kitchen, dining, and living areas is approx. 27' x 22' counting the stairwell. I can see a picture gallery over the stairwell and down the hall to the dining/kitchen. Note: If you didn't want a long bath counter, it could be cut shorter so that the water closet beside could be moved. A window goes over the water closet but is not shown.

GARAGE ELEVATION: The large seasonal closet has double tiered clothing racks. The stairwell features a landing. There is an entrance foyer. Doors lead to the garage/workshop. There is also a guest closet. The floor features a truss system through which the AC ducting may be run.

UPSTAIRS ALTERNATIVE ELEVATION: The kitchen/dining area is separated by a dining table. This could also be a counter with stools. The living room is 18x22 taking in the stairwell. The latter could be used a picture gallery. The triangular table in the laundry room could be changed to shelving. The game table in the living room is highly recommended. It also serves for additional dining when entertaining.
